Swati (स्वाती, 'the self-going one' / 'the independent one') is the fifteenth nakshatra, sidereal Libra 6°40'–20°00', ruled by Rahu and presided over by Vayu — the wind-god, the prana, the breath of the cosmos. The symbol is the *young plant moving in the wind* (or alternately, the *sword*) — the slender stalk that bends in every direction and never breaks because its strength is in its flexibility.
