Thunder and lightning together — the noon of fullness; abundance that arrives knowing it will not last forever.
The Hexagram
Hexagram 55, *Fēng*, is the image of thunder and lightning together — the bright dramatic noon of abundance. The classical name is *Abundance*. The hexagram counsels: *success; the king attains abundance; be not sad; be like the sun at midday*. The lesson: a season of *Fēng* is a great gift, and the I Ching is precise about how to receive it: *be like the sun at midday* — be fully present in the abundance, do not waste it on small fears, AND know that the noon is by definition the moment that begins to turn toward afternoon. Abundance has a horizon.
