The Hexagram
Hexagram 60, *Jié*, is the image of water held within the lake — bounded form, contained energy. The classical name is *Limitation*. The hexagram counsels: *success; galling limitation must not be persevered in*. The lesson is dual: limitation is *good* — it is the discipline that makes form possible — AND limitation that becomes *galling* (oppressive, life-denying) must be released. The wise person finds the *right* limitation: the structure that frees rather than the structure that imprisons.
