Hexagram 59, *Huàn*, is the image of wind blowing across water — the surface dispersing, the rigid pattern dissolving. The classical name is *Dispersion*. The hexagram counsels: *success; the king approaches his temple; it furthers one to cross the great water; perseverance furthers*. The lesson: the season is dissolving rigidities — old defenses, old separations, old hardenings. The wise behaviour is to *honour the centre* (the king at his temple — keep the sacred), and to *use the dispersion* for the larger crossing that becomes possible when the rigidities yield.
