The Hexagram
Hexagram 16, *Yù*, is the image of thunder bursting up from the earth — the sudden release of energy after long compression. The classical name is *Enthusiasm*. The hexagram counsels: *it furthers one to install helpers and to set armies marching*. The lesson: enthusiasm, properly channelled, is one of the great organising forces — it gathers people, focuses energy, makes large things possible. The discipline is to channel it into structure quickly. Pure enthusiasm without form dissipates into noise; enthusiasm with helpers and direction becomes a movement.
